Degerfors IF had plans to show Sweden's match against the Netherlands in the World Cup on their home ground but backs off due to high cost. The price for a single match is almost 540,000 kronor. The reason for the high price is that the club must pay for the license, screen rental, alcohol and food costs. It's a big risk, says Timmie Falk, press officer at Degerfors IF. The model is based on the license covering the entire tournament. It's set by the rights holders and applies to all actors who want to arrange public screenings, says Susanne Nylén, PR and communications manager at Allente. Continuous checks are carried out by external control companies at a large number of locations throughout Sweden. The purpose is to ensure that public viewing takes place in accordance with the rights and rules that apply to the tournament. At the same time, our experience is that most serious actors want to do the right thing and sign the necessary licenses, says Nylén. The brothers Olsson, who own several restaurants, will show the World Cup on their restaurants - despite the high price. They have tried to sell packages with food, drinks and guaranteed seating to secure income. It can't rain..., says restaurateur Andreas Olsson.
